Ren’ai MRI: Use the Included Region or Request an Additional Scan?

By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published · Updated

Start by matching the requested body region to the complete package list. Ren’ai Select 03 already includes one MRI chosen from head, cervical spine or lumbar spine. The US$150 single-region add-on is for an accepted additional examination with a Ren’ai health-check package; it is not a standalone MRI appointment.

Make two separate lists

Write down the health-check examinations you want to discuss and the exact MRI region requested. A request for a cervical scan and a request for a lumbar scan are separate lines. A package described as including MRI does not mean it covers every region or several regions together.

Men’s Select 03 costs US$778; Women’s Select 03 costs US$790. Each includes one of the three named regions, subject to the package conditions and hospital review. These are whole-package prices. Do not add US$150 again for the examination already included.

Compare the full package, not just the scan line

A lower-priced Ren’ai package plus an accepted MRI addition and Select 03 have different examination lists. Compare the other tests, eligibility and requested region before choosing. Ask the team to mark each item as included, additional and quoted, awaiting hospital review, or not requested.

The six Ren’ai package lists provide the starting point. A different region is not automatically an interchangeable substitute for the included head, cervical or lumbar examination. The receiving hospital must confirm what can be arranged.

What the US$150 addition covers

The confirmed offer is US$150 per single body region, only with a Ren’ai health-check package. It includes the doctor’s order, English-speaking accompaniment, the hospital’s Chinese report with English translation, and DICOM image files. Contrast, if required, costs extra. Availability, suitability, the exact region and any other extras require confirmation before booking.

Ask for the package subtotal and separately accepted addition in one written proposal. Do not apply this Shanghai offer to Guangzhou, another hospital or a standalone appointment. See the MRI planning page for the offer and package examples.

Confirm the visit and the records separately

Send available mornings and your departure date. Ask when the appointment, original report, translation and image access can each be provided. An available check-up slot does not by itself confirm an MRI slot or same-day records.

If you already have imaging, explain that in the enquiry so the receiving clinician can advise what should be reviewed. Before payment, confirm the final region, package, additions, dates, record-delivery arrangements and agreed total. The planning examples below show how this works when time or several requests complicate the choice.

Reconcile an example before accepting the total

RequestWhat must be reconciled
The same region already includedKeep it in the package; no duplicate US$150 charge for that included examination.
A second, additional single regionHospital acceptance first; show the base package and US$150 additional-region amount separately, with contrast extra if required.
A region or protocol outside the stated inclusionDo not assume a swap or that the published add-on covers it. Obtain the accepted examination and its specific quote.

For a visitor eligible for Men’s Select 03, the published whole-package amount is US$778. If the hospital accepts one additional single region under the US$150 offer, the planning subtotal is US$928 before contrast or any other separately agreed extras. For Women’s Select 03, the same arithmetic is US$790 + US$150 = US$940. These are conditional comparisons of published items, not individual quotes or evidence that a particular additional region is available.

The proposal should name the one included region and the additional region on different lines. If the requested scan is already the included examination, the additional-region line should be absent. If the requested region does not match the included choices, ask whether a different package or separately reviewed plan is appropriate; do not silently swap it or assume the difference is US$150.

Check the files against the accepted order

Keep a simple record for each accepted region: order wording, examination date, original report, English translation, DICOM access and the clinician responsible for explanation. Ask how to obtain the images, whether access expires and whom to contact if a file is missing. A report download alone does not confirm that the images have been supplied.

If a safety or protocol question remains open, send the requested information to the clinical team before accepting the scan appointment. RadiologyInfo’s MRI safety guidance explains why implant and device screening needs individual assessment; an available price does not settle that assessment.

Discuss your own plan

Include the package link, the included region and any separately requested region. Ask for one reconciled total and a record-delivery plan.

The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. Consultations, treatment, pathology and other services outside the listed package follow their separately confirmed arrangements.
