Existing MRI, a New Scan Question and Rehabilitation: A Couple’s Planning Brief

By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published · Updated

One partner brings an existing lumbar MRI. The other wants a doctor’s assessment before deciding about a cervical scan. They also ask about rehabilitation or TCM and Russian interpretation. This is a request for several individually reviewed services, not one standard MRI package.

A composite planning example based on anonymised enquiry themes, not a record of a completed visit or a promised outcome. The provider must confirm each arrangement.

Separate the two clinical pathways

For the first partner, ask what previous reports and image files the receiving clinician needs and how to provide them. The presence of an earlier MRI does not by itself settle whether further imaging is appropriate. For the second, show the doctor assessment as the first requested step and the possible scan as pending that review.

Record each person’s goals and consent separately. Avoid turning a shared enquiry into a shared diagnosis or assuming the same department will accept both. The previous-test review guide provides a checklist for discussing existing records.

Keep rehabilitation and TCM as unconfirmed requests

Ask which service the visitor wants to discuss, whether an appropriate clinician or department can review it, and what information is needed. A listed check-up hospital does not establish that rehabilitation or TCM can be coordinated there, or that either is appropriate for the visitor.

If a provider accepts a consultation, request the named department, location, appointment status and quote. Treatment plans, session counts and outcomes cannot be inferred from the enquiry. Do not combine provisional appointments into a paid itinerary before the dependencies are resolved.

Verify Russian-language support at each step

State whether Russian support is needed for clinical discussion, written reports, practical navigation or all three. The site’s included English-speaking check-up accompaniment does not establish Russian interpreting capacity. Ask what can be confirmed, by whom, for which appointments and at what agreed additional cost if applicable.

If one language arrangement cannot cover simultaneous appointments, consider separate times or a different plan. Confirm how the visitor can understand and approve the proposed clinical services and who may receive each person’s records.

Only then compare a routine screening package

If either person also wants routine screening, compare the published hospital and package lists separately from the consultations and rehabilitation requests. A Ren’ai MRI addition, if relevant, requires its own Ren’ai health-check package and hospital acceptance; it is not a universal standalone scan route.

Send the likely city, available dates, the two separate requests, existing imaging availability and exact language needs. Ask for a staged proposal showing confirmed, pending and unavailable items. This makes it possible to choose a workable trip without promising repeat scans, treatment or a language service before review.

Do not turn a record-review request into an automatic repeat scan

For the partner with existing imaging, prepare an inventory of the original report, image format, examination date and any prior clinical advice. Ask whether the receiving clinician can review those materials and what additional information is needed. A translated report is not a substitute for the image files when the clinician requests them.

For the partner seeking an assessment first, keep any new scan unconfirmed until the clinician has addressed the question. The couple can share planning contacts while retaining two separate clinical decisions. Neither an old scan nor a package offer establishes that repeating imaging is appropriate.

Make language capacity a decision before paying for a sequence

Ask for a response covering each accepted appointment: registration, consultation, consent, treatment communication if a service is accepted, and written follow-up. If Russian support cannot be confirmed for a necessary discussion, decide whether another mutually understood arrangement is acceptable or whether to change the timing or plan. Do not infer that included English check-up accompaniment supplies Russian interpreting.

Only add rehabilitation or TCM appointments after a provider has accepted the requested assessment and explained the proposed scope and price. Avoid pre-purchasing a course or assuming a number of sessions from the planning enquiry. Keep each provider’s records, reviewing clinician and follow-up contact attached to that person’s own itinerary.

Discuss your own plan

Separate the two clinical requests and identify exactly which discussions need language support before appointments can be accepted.

The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. Consultations, treatment, pathology and other services outside the listed package follow their separately confirmed arrangements.
