A Short Shanghai Work Trip: Morning Check-ups and Reports After Departure
By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published · Updated
A business visitor has only mornings available in Shanghai and wants a routine check-up with a named-region MRI request. Work commitments resume later in the day, and the visitor may leave China before the reports are complete. The plan needs separate appointment and document-delivery decisions.
A composite planning example based on anonymised enquiry themes, not a record of a completed visit or a promised outcome. The provider must confirm each arrangement.
Give a window rather than an assumed finish
Send the available mornings, hotel area, the first fixed work commitment each day and departure date and time. Identify which commitments cannot move. Ask the receiving team whether the complete accepted examination list fits that window and what remains uncertain.
A morning screening appointment does not automatically include an MRI slot, consultation or same-day completion of every test. If the plan cannot fit, compare another morning, a revised scope after clinical review or a different trip rather than treating an estimate as a guarantee.
Check the MRI against the selected package
At Ren’ai, Select 03 already includes one MRI chosen from head, cervical spine or lumbar spine: men US$778 and women US$790. The US$150 single-region addition is available only with a Ren’ai health-check package; contrast costs extra. Do not charge again for an examination already included.
Confirm the exact requested region, suitability, availability and any extras before booking. The add-on includes the doctor’s order, English accompaniment, Chinese report with English translation and DICOM files. It does not establish a fixed completion or delivery deadline.
Arrange a remote records handover in advance
The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. Confirm image availability separately. Agree a delivery channel that remains usable after departure, the correct recipient and a contact for missing items. Leaving Shanghai need not be the deadline for every document, but the handover must be agreed rather than assumed.
Record who provides clinical explanation and how follow-up questions will be directed. Translation and coordination do not replace a clinician’s interpretation. If a further appointment is recommended, its availability, location and cost need their own confirmation.
What to include in the first message
Send the package link if chosen, MRI region, previous imaging available for review, morning windows, work cutoff and departure details. State that reports may need delivery overseas and ask for the relevant delivery dates in the written plan.
Before accepting, review the campus, appointment sequence, package price, approved additions, preparation instructions and record-delivery arrangement together. Use the Shanghai comparison page if the hospital or base package is still undecided. A confirmed realistic schedule is more useful than the largest package that cannot fit the trip.
Ask for a workable morning and a fallback
Describe the time you must leave the hospital for work, rather than only when the meeting starts. Ask the team to check the entire accepted sequence against that constraint, including a separate MRI or consultation if proposed. Keep travel time as a planning allowance to confirm for the actual hotel and campus, not a fixed citywide promise.
If the necessary services cannot fit, decide whether a second morning is available. If it is not, ask the clinical team which plan can appropriately proceed and which request should be deferred. The written response should make that trade-off explicit; a shorter list is not automatically a medically suitable solution.
Leave with an open-items list, not an assumed finished file
Before departure, identify the examinations completed, anything rescheduled, the hospital report still due, its English translation and MRI images. Put the expected date and responsible contact beside each item. Agree a delivery method that works without relying on an expiring hotel contact or an untested account after travel.
When a file arrives, check whether it is the original, a translation or image access. Keep unresolved items open until the agreed deliverables arrive, and direct clinical questions to the reviewing doctor. This separates an efficient morning visit from a promise that all findings will be available before the next meeting.
Generalized planning example
Planning example: a document-by-document handover
A generalized planning example based on anonymised enquiry themes. It is not a completed visit, testimonial or promised medical outcome. The hospital must confirm each proposed arrangement.
A visitor leaves after the appointments and uses an agreed handover list while overseas. Mark each item received only when that deliverable arrives.
| Deliverable | Record before departure | Completion check |
|---|---|---|
| Hospital-issued Chinese report | Issuer and delivery contact | Complete original received |
| Full English translation | Company delivery channel usable overseas | All original report pages covered |
| Imaging files, if arranged | File format, access method and expiry | Files saved and usable by the receiving clinician |
| Separately arranged clinical review | Provider, accepted appointment and fee | Review actually completed; sending a document alone is not a consultation |
The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in the confirmed package are completed. Services outside that package have separately confirmed arrangements.
Discuss your own plan
State your hospital departure cutoff and whether another morning is available. The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. Confirm MRI image access separately.
