Guangzhou Health Check for US Visitors: Plan Your Trip
By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Updated
For a US visitor planning a Guangzhou health check, the main decisions are the exact hospital campus, a realistic appointment window and how records will reach you after the visit. Start with your travel dates and the examinations you want to discuss. Confirm the hospital plan before assigning a free morning to it.

Choose the Guangzhou campus from your actual itinerary
The Guangzhou hospital directory lists six options with package pages. Compare the campus and relevant department alongside the route from your confirmed hotel. A hospital name or an area such as Pazhou is not a precise appointment address.
Shortlist an option using the written test list and ask whether all agreed examinations happen at that location. If an addition needs a separate department or another visit, include that in the plan. For the booking overview, use Guangzhou health check arrangements.
Your selected, confirmed package
Four services included in your package
All listed check-up tests
The examinations and consumables expressly listed for your selected package, with its eligibility conditions.
Personalized VIP coordination
Individual appointment planning, visit coordination and support through report delivery.
Dedicated English-speaking accompaniment throughout your check-up
A dedicated English-speaking companion supports you throughout your hospital check-up visit.
Hospital-issued Chinese report + full English translation
Your hospital’s original Chinese report and complete English translation, delivered within 3–5 working days after the listed package examinations are completed.
These four services are included in the price of your selected, confirmed package. Extra tests, treatment, medicines, transport and accommodation are not included unless expressly listed in your written plan; separately priced additions require your approval.
VIP personal service means MyChinaCheckup’s individual coordination and accompaniment. It does not promise a hospital VIP ward, priority medical access or a medical outcome.
Leave room between a US flight and a fasting appointment
Give the coordinator your arrival date and local arrival time, including any connecting flight. A short visit can become difficult if a delay leaves no opportunity to meet preparation instructions. There is no fixed recovery period that fits every traveler; agree an appointment you can attend comfortably and prepare for correctly.
Follow the hospital's instructions for the selected tests. MedlinePlus explains that fasting requirements depend on the test. Ask about food, water and medicines instead of applying one rule to every blood test, scan or consultation. Do not change prescribed medicines on your own.
A two-to-four-day stay: an illustration, not a guarantee
| Trip stage | What to plan |
|---|---|
| Arrival | Reach the hotel, confirm the address and review preparation for the agreed appointment. |
| Confirmed examination morning | Meet the coordinator and follow the hospital's check-in and examination sequence. |
| Remaining time in Guangzhou | Keep flexibility for an incomplete test or clinician-advised review, subject to availability. |
| After departure | Receive outstanding reports through the agreed channel and arrange review with your own doctor if needed. |
The usual routine hospital visit estimate is about 2–3.5 hours. The usual 3–5-working-day report schedule can extend beyond a two-to-four-day stay, especially around weekends or holidays. MRI, CT, additional consultations and repeat tests may require different timings. Do not assume an arrival, appointment and departure sequence will suit every examination.
Check a current quote and a usable payment method
One current directory example is the Guangzhou First People's Hospital men's check-up 01 listing at US$268, checked on 29 September 2026. That is a named listed option, not the price of every Guangzhou check-up or a plan for every visitor. Ask for your complete scope and total before paying.
Confirm the currency, recipient, payment method and any bank or conversion fees. International cards, Alipay and WeChat are not interchangeable guarantees of acceptance. If you have no Chinese mobile number or a payment method fails, ask about an agreed alternative before the appointment.
Use the China vs US comparison guide to account for insurance, travel and follow-up without double-counting services already included in your written quote.
Two visitors need two individual plans
If you and your partner want the same morning, request that explicitly. Confirm separate examination lists, prices, reports and consent for shared contact. One person's preferred package does not establish what the other needs, and a shared appointment does not guarantee you will move through every department together.
Ask how English accompaniment works if your examination routes split. Read the couples' scope and price checklist for practical questions. Its planning examples do not establish that all US visitors have the same needs.
If you want MRI or CT, specify the question
State the body region and whether a clinician has already recommended the examination. The Guangzhou hospital decides whether further assessment, an order or safety screening is required, and confirms the protocol. Neither US nationality nor a short travel window removes those requirements.
Ask whether the scan fits the proposed visit, whether its price is included and when its report and images will be available. A request for a “full body checkup” is not a request for every scan. Use the US imaging request checklist to prepare the right questions.
Arrange the US doctor handover before leaving
Ask your PCP or specialist which outside records they can review and how to send them. Agree the original Chinese report, English translation, laboratory values with units and reference ranges, and any separately needed radiology report or image files. Your receiving clinic determines whether another appointment or testing is appropriate.
Test access to the agreed document channel before departure and keep a contact for missing records or unclear translations. Translation and coordination do not replace medical interpretation. The US handover checklist covers questions for both providers.
If the Canton Fair is part of your trip
Use the existing Canton Fair health check hub for exhibition-specific planning, couples' questions and the related Guangzhou campus guides. Keep this page for the US-to-Guangzhou journey, payment and return-home arrangements; the fair is one possible travel scenario.
For a business or family visit outside the fair, the same written appointment checks still apply. An exhibition badge, business invitation or hotel reservation does not confirm a hospital booking or determine entry eligibility. Check the US visitor guide for those separate steps.
Common questions
Can I finish everything during a two-day stay in Guangzhou?
A routine appointment may fit, but reports, added imaging or further clinical assessment may not. Ask for separate appointment and report dates before deciding whether your window is workable.
Do I need to remain in China until the English report is ready?
Ask whether your selected reports can be delivered after departure and whether any further in-person review is required. Electronic delivery is an arrangement to confirm, not proof that no follow-up will be needed.
Can you guarantee reimbursement by my US insurer?
No. Ask your insurer about the specific overseas appointment before paying. We can clarify the proposed service and available documents, but the insurer determines coverage.
