A UK Visitor’s Shenzhen Check-up: English Support and Reports After Returning Home

Updated 1 October 2026 · By MyChinaCheckup

A UK visitor wanted a health check-up and a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) consultation during his Shenzhen visit. The useful work began before he reached the hospital: aligning two appointments, arranging English-speaking accompaniment and giving him one clear plan.

14 September

The visit date, with an 08:00 check-up and an 11:30 TCM appointment in the agreed plan.

A shared WeChat group connected the visitor, coordinator and accompanying assistant.

Reports sent; the visitor confirmed receipt after returning home.

“Thank you for the report. Wasn't expecting it so quickly.”

One trip, two appointments to coordinate

The visitor asked for appointment timings well before the visit. On 2 September, the coordinator confirmed a 09:00 health check-up for 14 September and explained that accompaniment had been arranged. The TCM appointment had a separate booking window: in this case, it could be booked only seven days ahead.

That distinction mattered. Confirming a check-up did not automatically confirm the second appointment. The coordinator explained when the remaining booking could be made and kept the visitor informed.

Moving the start earlier made the plan more practical

On 7 September, the coordinator proposed starting the check-up at 08:00 rather than 09:00, with the TCM consultation planned for 11:30. The check-up was estimated to take two to three hours, so the earlier start was intended to leave enough time between appointments and keep the afternoon free.

“That works great for me ..”

These are the agreed appointment times and the estimate given for this visit, not a measured duration or a guarantee that every combined visit can finish in one morning.

English accompaniment, with the details in one place

The coordinator asked whether the visitor used WeChat and set up a group including the English-speaking assistant. By the day before the appointment, the exact hospital address and schedule had been shared there.

The visitor could check the plan and reach the people supporting him on the day without relaying questions between separate conversations. On 13 September, he confirmed that he had read the information:

“I have just checked and I think I understand everything and am ready for tomorrow.”

At 12:20 on 14 September, the visitor sent a thank-you message to the coordination group:

“Thanl you for everything today”

The value here is practical: a prepared itinerary, someone to help with communication and a shared channel for questions. This story concerns the coordination experience, rather than the visitor’s private medical findings.

The service continued after the visitor flew home

On 18 September, four calendar days after the visit, the coordinator messaged that the full hospital report was ready and sent two documents in the same conversation. Later that day, the visitor confirmed receipt and said he had arrived home the previous day.

His response provides the clearest evidence of what he valued: the report arrived sooner than he expected, and he was comfortable recommending the service.

“Once again thank you for everything. I will pass your details onto anyone that is interested in having this done.”

A TCM consultation is a separate appointment; treatments, suitability and any extra charges should be discussed with the provider. Additional examinations and report schedules depend on the agreed plan. No medical records are needed for the initial travel enquiry.
