Planning a China Health Check Before Your City or Dates Are Fixed

By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published · Updated

You can start comparing check-up options before flights or travel dates are final. Treat the first enquiry as a planning brief: identify the people, priorities, likely cities and timing constraints, then separate an indicative shortlist from a confirmed booking.

Send useful information without inventing dates

State the likely month or travel window, possible cities, number of attendees and how much time might be available. If the dates are unknown, say so. List requested tests, language needs, previous records relevant to a clinician’s review and the budget concern for each attendee.

If a relative is organising the enquiry from overseas, identify who will attend and how the visitor will take part in confirming personal details, clinical requests and record recipients. A family coordinator’s availability is not the patient’s appointment availability.

Compare what is already published

The current seven-city price comparison covers Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Chengdu, Sanya and Zhuhai. Use named hospital and package links to preserve the scope behind a price. A preferred city outside the catalogue is an availability enquiry, not evidence that a package has launched there.

Location-specific offers remain location-specific. Ren’ai’s US$150 single-region MRI addition requires a Ren’ai health-check package in Shanghai. It is not a national standalone scan price. A provisional quote should identify which services are published, which require clinical review and which are still being checked.

Mark the milestones in the plan

Use four clear stages: initial requirements received; options or quote supplied; clinical and scheduling questions resolved; booking and payment status confirmed under the agreed terms. Ask what the quoted amount includes, whether it has a validity period and what must be reconfirmed if dates change.

Before committing to travel around an appointment, obtain the exact provider, campus, accepted tests, appointment time and preparation instructions. Report and translation delivery dates may extend beyond the visit. Ask how records will reach the visitor if they leave China first.

Reconfirm when something changes

Changes in the traveller’s circumstances, selected services, city or dates can require a revised proposal. Send the change before proceeding and ask whether the clinical review, amount, availability or booking terms are affected. Do not assume an earlier quote still describes the final plan.

Payment confirmation and appointment confirmation are separate facts. If a transaction fails, verify the secure payment route and current status with the team rather than repeatedly paying or sending card details. The scenario links below show how to handle provisional destinations, changed requirements and payment uncertainty.

Separate fixed requirements from flexible preferences

Use three columns in the first brief: fixed, flexible and not yet known. A necessary clinical review or a traveller’s limited mobility may be fixed; the city or a preferred morning may be flexible. An unknown flight date should stay unknown. This helps the team avoid spending time obtaining a precise slot that the traveller cannot yet accept.

Ask for no more than a small workable shortlist, each with a named provider, scope, indicative total and outstanding decisions. Save the date and version of the proposal. A hospital option checked now may need another availability check once travel is fixed; no provisional shortlist holds a place by itself.

Keep quote validity, clinical acceptance, a currently available slot and a confirmed booking in separate fields. A quote can be valid while the requested slot is unavailable; an available slot can still depend on clinical review. Ask what must happen before any provisional option becomes a confirmed appointment.

Use the travel decision as a confirmation checkpoint

When the city and usable dates are known, send one consolidated update rather than a series of conflicting alternatives. Reconfirm attendees, exact package or clinical request, support needs, payment status and departure arrangements. Ask which earlier assumptions are replaced and what still needs hospital acceptance.

For a visit after 31 December 2026, request the applicable written inclusions and price for that visit before paying. The published policy does not promise that the 2026 inclusion offer continues. This does not remove services already agreed in an accepted quote; it prevents a planning example from becoming a promise about an unquoted future visit.

Discuss your own plan

Separate fixed requirements, flexible preferences and unknown details. For later travel, ask for the terms that apply to your own visit date.

The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. Consultations, treatment, pathology and other services outside the listed package follow their separately confirmed arrangements.
