Practical planning guide
Sanya Cervical Tests: TCT Cytology and HPV Package Scope
By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published
All three current Sanya women’s packages list TCT cervical cytology. Only Women’s Selected 03 lists HPV genotyping. Neither a pelvic ultrasound row nor the word “women’s” establishes that HPV testing is included. Use the precise examination list when requesting confirmation.
Compare the three published lists
| Package | TCT cervical cytology | HPV genotyping |
|---|---|---|
| Women’s Basic 01 | Listed | Not listed |
| Women’s Advanced 02 | Listed | Not listed |
| Women’s Selected 03 | Listed | Listed |
The list does not specify a promise of every HPV type or a universal genotyping panel. Ask the hospital which types and reporting categories are covered by the actual test. A test absent from a package may be discussed as a separate request, subject to suitability and availability.
Keep cytology, HPV testing and ultrasound distinct
Cervical cytology examines collected cells for changes. HPV testing looks for infection with relevant virus types. These answer different questions even when samples can be collected during the same visit. The National Cancer Institute’s screening explanation describes the distinction.
Pelvic ultrasound is an imaging examination and does not establish that either cervical laboratory test has been ordered. When comparing packages, keep these rows separate instead of grouping them under a single “gynaecology check” label. Your clinician determines the appropriate testing for your circumstances.
Confirm sampling and comfort before booking
- Ask which sample is required and how it will be collected.
- Tell the provider about relevant previous results and ask whether they affect the plan.
- Confirm preparation and whether the appointment date needs adjustment.
- State privacy, accompaniment or clinician-gender preferences and ask what can actually be arranged.
- Confirm what happens if a listed examination is unsuitable or cannot be completed.
A preference for a female clinician is a request to confirm, not a guarantee. This guide does not set an age threshold or screening interval for every visitor. Individual history and clinical advice determine suitability.
Plan how results will be explained
Check how the hospital reports the cytology and any HPV findings, which documents are translated, and who provides clinical explanation. Ask how a recommended follow-up would be arranged if you have already left China.
The package report handover is separate from acceptance of a later clinical appointment. An abnormal result does not by itself establish a diagnosis, and a result should not be interpreted through a comparison table. Use the provider’s advice for the next step.
Confirmed package services and timing
Your selected, confirmed check-up package price includes all listed examinations and consumables, personalised VIP coordination, dedicated English-speaking accompaniment throughout the check-up, and the hospital-issued Chinese report with a full English translation. Extras need a separately disclosed price and your acceptance.
Routine packages usually take 2–3.5 hours on site; additions or separate appointments can take longer. Both reports are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in the confirmed package are completed. This is not a deadline for a separate specialist diagnostic or treatment pathway.
For ordinary check-ups, payment can be made after arriving in China, but must be complete before the first examination. Any hospital-required advance payment is explained before you confirm the booking. Booking steps · Cancellation and refund terms.

Discuss your own plan
Explain the appointment or examination scope you want checked. An enquiry is free and does not reserve an appointment. The receiving provider confirms suitability, availability and the written plan.
