Changing a Health-Check Appointment in China After a Travel Delay

By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Updated

Contact the booking team as soon as a travel change could affect your visit, giving the booking reference and original appointment time in China. Ask about new availability before assuming the appointment has moved. MyChinaCheckup offers one complimentary reschedule subject to availability and disclosed third-party costs, with a separate cancellation policy.

Send the facts the booking team can act on

A message saying “my flight changed” starts a conversation but does not give enough information to rearrange a hospital visit. State the original appointment, your revised arrival city and time, the earliest day you can attend, and your last available day in that city. If the new arrival is uncertain, say so clearly.

Use the established booking channel and quote the reference. Distinguish what you are requesting: cancellation, a proposed new date, or advice while you wait for the airline’s decision. Keep the acknowledgement. A message sent, a message received and a hospital appointment changed are three separate events.

Put every deadline in China time

Our cancellation notice period is measured against the confirmed appointment time in China, UTC+8. Check the calendar date as well as the hour when you are messaging from another time zone. Write “China time” beside the appointment in your records so that an overnight flight or connection does not create ambiguity.

For example, an illustrative Friday appointment at 08:00 China time has its 48-hour point on Wednesday at 08:00 China time. This example explains the calculation only; it does not confirm a real booking or availability. If your original agreement uses a different arrangement, ask which terms apply to that booking rather than assuming the latest website text changes it retrospectively.

Apply the cancellation and change policy accurately

The reason for a travel disruption does not by itself establish an extra waiver, a reserved replacement slot or airline compensation. Ask for the actual arrangement and applicable costs. Read the complete payment, cancellation and rescheduling policy with your booking confirmation.

Check the whole visit when considering a new date

A free day on your itinerary does not confirm that the same package, clinician, imaging slot or English support is available. Ask what can remain the same and which parts need new confirmation. If several services were planned, request a revised sequence rather than assuming everything moves together.

An operator-documented Shenzhen visit combined a morning check-up with a later TCM consultation. That was one completed arrangement, not a guarantee of two appointments on every replacement date. When moving a similar plan, both appointments and the support between them would need reconfirmation.

Recheck preparation and the time remaining in China

Changing the date may leave you with different preparation questions or less time for later conversations about results. Ask the hospital to reissue or reconfirm the relevant instructions. Do not reuse a preparation timetable mechanically if the examinations or appointment time have changed, and do not alter medicines based on a travel schedule.

Tell the team if you now depart the city immediately after the check-up. Clarify what can be completed during the visit, how remaining reports will be delivered, and how any recommended follow-up would be arranged. An earlier flight home does not make every result available earlier.

Finish with one revised written plan

Once a new arrangement is agreed, request a consolidated confirmation: hospital, campus, date, time, examinations, support, total and any additional costs accepted. Keep the previous confirmation as a record, but clearly mark which plan is current. Check that the new address is not a different campus with a similar name.

If you decide to cancel, request the refund calculation, method and expected processing time in writing. If a flight remains uncertain, agree when the next update is needed and what can realistically be held. MyChinaCheckup can coordinate requests, but cannot promise that a hospital will keep a slot open while travel decisions remain unresolved.

Common questions

Is my first change completely free?

There is no coordination change fee for one reschedule, but the new appointment remains subject to availability and disclosed third-party costs. Ask for any incurred costs and the revised total before accepting the replacement plan.

Does bad weather automatically guarantee a full refund?

The published policy is based on notice and actual incurred non-refundable third-party costs. A weather disruption does not create an additional automatic promise here. Contact the team promptly and ask how the policy applies to the confirmed booking.

Can I simply arrive at the hospital later that morning?

Ask the booking team or hospital first. A delayed arrival may not fit the examination sequence or registration arrangements. Get explicit instructions rather than assuming the original appointment remains usable at any time.

Plan the details before you book

If your journey changes, send your booking reference, original appointment in China time and available replacement dates so we can check the options.

An enquiry does not reserve an appointment. Confirm the hospital, date, scope and total in writing before payment.

The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. Consultations, treatment, pathology and other services outside the listed package follow their separately confirmed arrangements.
