Guangzhou Health Check-up During the Canton Fair: A Pazhou Visit with MRI and MRA
For an overseas couple visiting Guangzhou for the Canton Fair, a personalised health check-up began with planning before the journey. On 20 October 2026, they attended the Advanced Medical Center at Guangdong Second Provincial General Hospital’s Pazhou campus, with English-speaking accompaniment and on-site coordination from Lucy. The individual arrangements included MRI examinations covering three areas and a separate cranial MRA added on site. The appointment was booked for 9:00am; all examinations were completed at 1:30pm, with reports to follow separately.

The planning began before the journey
The conversations began while the couple were still overseas. Their Guangzhou trip included the Canton Fair and time travelling together, so the health check needed to fit around those plans. They also preferred not to start too early.
We discussed their individual needs and worked on the appointment arrangements with those preferences in mind. A 9:00am appointment on 20 October was confirmed at the hospital’s Pazhou campus, with English-speaking support from Lucy.
For visitors making similar plans, our Canton Fair check-up planning guide explains how to discuss available dates and business commitments before arranging an appointment.

Payment attempts overseas: planning continued
While still overseas, the couple made several attempts to complete the advance payment. A friend also helped with an attempt, but those attempts did not complete the payment. The reason for the failures was not confirmed.
During these exchanges, we confirmed that appointment coordination would continue. Preparations for the hospital visit carried on while the payment issue was being resolved.
Payment completed after arrival in China
After the couple arrived in China, they completed the payment and we confirmed receipt before the check-up.
This was the payment sequence for this individual booking. It does not establish a general pay-on-arrival arrangement; payment timing for another booking needs to be agreed separately.
Lucy visited the hospital before appointment day
Lucy visited the hospital in person before appointment day to familiarise herself with reception and the on-site route. She checked the building, entrance and appointment arrangements in advance, including Building 10 and the booked 9:00am appointment at the Pazhou campus.
On the day of the visit, direct communication with Lucy also helped clarify the west entrance and where to meet.

Before the visit: rest, preparation and contact with Lucy
Before the appointment, the team discussed the couple’s Canton Fair plans, preferred arrival time and how the visit would fit around their travel. After they arrived in China, the exchanges included a welcome and consideration for rest and adjusting to the time difference.
The day before the check-up, reminders about identification and documents, clothing and examination preparation were sent again. Direct contact with Lucy was arranged, with instructions to contact her on arrival or if running late.
A personalised plan, refined on site
The visit combined comprehensive examinations with MRI examinations covering three areas. On-site coordination also helped arrange an additional, separate cranial MRA as part of the personalised plan.
These were individual arrangements for this visit, not a standard imaging list assigned identically to both partners. Coordinating two appointments together still leaves each person’s examinations to be agreed separately with the hospital.
Our guide to planning two individual check-ups around the Canton Fair explains that distinction. You can also explore health-check options in Guangzhou as a starting point for discussing your own needs.
English-speaking support through the hospital visit
Lucy provided English-speaking accompaniment and on-site coordination as the couple moved through their examinations. The arrangements made beforehand supported communication and navigation between the different parts of the visit.
The hospital’s clinical staff carried out the examinations and were responsible for medical assessment. MyChinaCheckup coordinated the appointments and communication support.

The finishing time was 1:30pm
With numerous examinations and individually arranged imaging, the visit continued into the afternoon. All examinations were completed at 1:30pm.
The booked appointment time and the finishing time are useful planning references, but they do not establish an exact visit duration: the actual start time was not confirmed. This case should not be read as a promise that the same examinations will take the same time for another visitor.
- 9:00am · booked appointment
- The scheduled appointment time at the Pazhou campus.
- During the visit
- Comprehensive examinations and individually arranged imaging, with English-speaking accompaniment and on-site coordination.
- 1:30pm · examinations complete
- All examinations for the visit had finished. Report follow-up was a separate next step.
If your plan includes several imaging examinations, keep the afternoon flexible until the hospital confirms the practical arrangements. Tell the coordination team about any fixed exhibition meetings or onward travel. Our guide to examination and report timing during the Canton Fair separates the hospital visit from later report delivery.
The examinations finished; reports remained a follow-up stage
The 1:30pm completion time refers to the examinations. It does not mean that the reports had been issued or delivered that day.
Report availability, language arrangements and delivery should be confirmed for the individual plan. The hospital issues the clinical reports and provides medical assessment; MyChinaCheckup coordinates the agreed communication and follow-up arrangements.
Questions about a Canton Fair health-check visit
Can a couple have different examination plans?
Yes. Appointments can be coordinated together while each person’s examinations and imaging are planned individually with the hospital. The MRI and cranial MRA arrangements in this case were personalised to this visit.
Should I reserve only a morning if my plan includes several scans?
Do not assume that a complex examination plan will finish before lunch. This couple’s examinations were completed at 1:30pm. Discuss your full examination list and fixed business commitments before confirming the visit, and allow afternoon time where needed.
Was English-speaking support available?
Lucy provided English-speaking accompaniment and on-site coordination for this visit. Confirm the support arrangements for each attendee when planning your own appointment.
Were the reports delivered when the examinations ended?
Report delivery was a separate follow-up stage and was not confirmed as completed in this account. Confirm expected availability and the delivery arrangements for your personalised plan.
