Canton Fair Check-up Timing: Scans, Endoscopy and Reports

Plan a Canton Fair health check around four separate commitments: the hospital appointment, any extra procedure and recovery, the onward journey, and report delivery. A routine check-up estimate cannot confirm when an MRI or endoscopy will finish. Your hospital must accept the actual test list and appointment before you build it into a business itinerary.
Keep optional procedures off the routine morning estimate
Use this table when you have one free morning but are also considering imaging or endoscopy. The answer may be a single visit, a second appointment or a different date; the coordination team should confirm which is actually available.

NIDDK explains that upper endoscopy and colonoscopy examine different parts of the digestive tract. Colonoscopy has its own bowel preparation; sedation can affect the arrangements for getting home. If an extra appointment no longer fits
Ask which agreed tests remain feasible, whether the extra procedure can move to another date, and how a revised scope affects the quote and preparation. A scan request should not silently become a confirmed booking. Do not mark a procedure complete simply because the routine check-up has finished.
Record your last fixed business commitment before the visit and your first fixed commitment afterwards, both in China local time. The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. “How long do I need to stay, or is it outpatient?”
For a business visit, distinguish an outpatient check-up from any extra procedure requiring its own appointment or recovery arrangements. Ask the selected hospital which applies to your agreed examinations.
Routine preventive check-ups are generally outpatient: you attend the hospital and leave after the scheduled examinations. MyChinaCheckup’s usual planning estimate is about 2–3.5 hours on site for routine packages. An expanded plan with several scans or procedures may take longer or need additional appointments. The hospital must confirm timing for your actual plan.
Use exhibition breaks as possible appointment windows
For autumn 2026, the official Canton Fair phases run 15–19 October, 23–27 October and 31 October–4 November. The days between phases are 20–22 October and 28–30 October. Your own supplier meetings may use those days, and clinic availability needs separate confirmation. Check the official fair dates.
Share your available mornings, hotel name or area, arrival date, and departure date and time. Confirm the hospital campus, arrival time and meeting point. Allow for transport, registration, waiting and different finish times; keep important business meetings clear of a tightly timed hospital finish.
What one completed Guangzhou morning does and does not show
The published 12 October 2026 Yanjiang visit records hotel collection at 07:50, hospital arrival at 08:40 and the on-site finish at 11:05, all China time. That is 2 hours 25 minutes on site and 3 hours 15 minutes from collection to on-site finish.
Those are the recorded milestones of one booking. The interval between collection and arrival is not a measured driving time, and no return-to-hotel time is established. Hospital reports and English handover were still pending when the case was published on 12 October. The case therefore helps distinguish attendance from report delivery; it does not promise another visitor the same timetable.

Can MRI and CT fit into the same visit?
Ask before booking. The hospital needs to confirm which examination is appropriate, the body region, whether an order or consultation is required and the available appointment. Several regions can require several scan slots. Ask whether any tests can be completed on the same day and what happens if a separate slot is needed.

What if we add gastroscopy or colonoscopy?
Discuss this as a separate scheduling question. Ask the hospital about assessment, preparation, appointment timing, sedation if proposed, escort requirements and post-procedure instructions. Build the business itinerary around those confirmed requirements. The routine check-up estimate should not be applied to endoscopy automatically.
Will we need to remain in Guangzhou until reports are ready?

- Agree a separate email or other delivery channel for each person.
- Clarify whether you will receive imaging files in addition to written reports.
- Ask how to raise questions after leaving China and whether any further consultation is separately charged.
- Confirm any required follow-up with the hospital before leaving, rather than treating email delivery as a substitute for clinical follow-up.
