ANA and Anti-CCP in Guangzhou Check-up Lists: Clarify the Antibody Tests
By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published
ANA and anti-CCP identify different antibody tests. A package that names one does not establish that it includes the other. The first task when matching a clinician’s request is to preserve the exact antibody name and any panel wording, then obtain the laboratory specification.
A full-table audit on 13 October 2026 found five relevant ANA or anti-CCP entries across four Sun Yat-sen Memorial package pages in the MyChinaCheckup Guangzhou catalogue. One of those entries names ANA inside a panel alongside Anti-dsDNA, a detail that would be missed by looking only for standalone ANA rows. A separate Guangzhou Medical First listing provides a useful counterexample: it names thyroid autoantibodies without identifying the individual antibodies.
This is a test-name and scope audit. It does not recommend autoimmune screening, interpret a result or turn a commercial package into a diagnostic plan. The sources are operator catalogue pages, not confirmed hospital orders.
The named-antibody matrix

| Operator package | Exact catalogue wording | What can be recorded | Specification still needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sun Yat-sen Memorial Men 1 | “Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP)” | Anti-CCP expressly named | Actual assay and report specification |
| Sun Yat-sen Memorial Men 2 | “Antinuclear antibody (ANA)” | ANA expressly named as a standalone entry | Method, reporting format and any further testing included in the order |
| Sun Yat-sen Memorial Women 1 | “Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP)” | Anti-CCP expressly named | Actual assay and report specification |
| Sun Yat-sen Memorial Women 3 | “Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP)” | Anti-CCP expressly named in its own row | Actual assay and report specification |
| Sun Yat-sen Memorial Women 3 | “Lupus-associated antibody panel: ANA, Anti-dsDNA” | ANA and Anti-dsDNA named within one panel label | Complete panel specification and how the components are ordered and reported |
| Guangzhou Medical First Men 3 | “Thyroid autoantibodies” (item 42; Chinese: “抗甲状腺自身抗体”) | A broad thyroid-autoantibody label | Individual antibodies are not named; ANA or anti-CCP cannot be added by inference |
The five directly relevant entries are not a count of five distinct clinical tests. They repeat names across packages and include a panel. Anti-CCP appears on three pages. ANA appears on two pages, once as a standalone item and once within the named panel. Women 3 contributes to both counts.
We searched complete tables across 42 Guangzhou pages within the wider 78-page corpus. Other pages without a matching name remain “not expressly named in this audit”. That status does not establish exclusion, hospital-wide availability or the contents of an unspecified panel.
Read the panel title and qualification together
The Women 3 panel’s detail column says: “Listed as a group. Individual sub-indicators are not fully specified.” That qualification must stay attached to the title. The two names visible in the title are evidence of published wording, but they do not settle whether the panel has additional components or how the actual laboratory order is configured.
Record “ANA, Anti-dsDNA named; complete panel unresolved”. Do not silently turn the row into a fully specified two-test order, expand it into a standard panel from another laboratory, or assume it is identical to the standalone ANA entry in Men 2.
The words “Lupus-associated” are part of the operator’s label. They do not establish that a person has lupus, that the package can diagnose it, or that the panel is appropriate for someone without a clinical reason for testing.
What ANA and anti-CCP refer to
MedlinePlus describes ANA testing as looking for antinuclear antibodies in blood. ANA results alone cannot diagnose a specific disease, and antinuclear antibodies can also be present in people without disease. These limitations matter when reading a label that sounds disease-specific. MedlinePlus: ANA test.
Anti-CCP is the abbreviation for antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptide. MedlinePlus describes the test as a blood test used in the assessment of rheumatoid arthritis, with interpretation drawing on symptoms, medical history, examination and other findings. A catalogue entry or an isolated antibody result is not an illness diagnosis. MedlinePlus: CCP antibody test.
These explanations distinguish the names; they do not establish the local assay method, complete panel contents or clinical equivalence. This guide provides no cut-offs, result algorithm, treatment advice or suggested screening schedule.
Match an existing request without broadening it
Use the exact wording of a clinician’s request, if one exists. Keep that request separate from the wording copied from the catalogue.
- If the request says anti-CCP and the package names ANA, record a different named test and ask for clarification. Do not mark the request fulfilled merely because both are antibodies.
- If the request says ANA and the page names the ANA/Anti-dsDNA panel, retain the full panel label and ask what the actual order would contain.
- If the page says only “thyroid autoantibodies”, ask which individual antibodies are included. The broad label cannot establish ANA or anti-CCP inclusion.
- If the purpose of the enquiry is still a health concern rather than a named test request, ask the clinician what evaluation addresses that concern before treating a panel as the answer.
This last step is about clinical review, not a recommendation for a particular test bundle. The consultation-first planning guide describes how to keep the appointment question clear.
A compact confirmation record

| Record | Details to keep |
|---|---|
| Exact clinician-requested name, if any | ____ |
| Package URL and date checked | ____ |
| Complete item and panel label | ____ |
| Published qualification or missing detail | ____ |
| Hospital-confirmed test name, components and method | ____ |
| How components appear on the report | ____ |
| Unresolved difference, contact and confirmation date | ____ |
For Women 3, a focused enquiry is: “The page lists anti-CCP separately and an ANA/Anti-dsDNA panel whose full components are unspecified. Please confirm the exact proposed orders and reporting format for the tests already under discussion.” No personal results or identity documents are needed to ask that wording question; share clinical records through the provider’s agreed private route when requested.
Evidence and boundaries
Catalogue and MedlinePlus sources were checked on 13 October 2026. The audit checked complete tables, including the Women 3 panel and its qualification, rather than relying on isolated item names. For prices and every published row across the six options, use the Sun Yat-sen Memorial package comparison.
The general package comparison guide covers the wider quotation. Use Guangzhou check-up planning to request an exact specification. Coordination can obtain the provider’s answer, while clinical selection and interpretation remain with a qualified healthcare professional. Catalogue wording does not confirm an appointment or the availability of an individual laboratory order.
