China Health Checks on Weekends and Public Holidays
By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published
A Saturday, Sunday or public-holiday health check needs confirmation for the exact hospital, campus and examinations. A hospital being open does not establish that its health-check centre, imaging appointments, procedure team and report service can complete your plan that day. Obtain a dated itinerary covering each required step.
Ask about the date and campus, not “weekend opening”
Send the full calendar date, year, city and the time you can arrive. If you have more than one possible morning, list them in preference order. The useful answer is not simply “we open on Saturdays”; it is which elements of your requested visit are available at the selected campus on your actual date.
Public holiday announcements describe the calendar, not a named hospital’s appointment roster. Ask the hospital to confirm its published arrangement for your dates, including any adjusted workday. Do not use emergency-department opening hours as evidence of a routine check-up slot. This guide is for planned appointments; it does not describe emergency access.
Check all the services your visit depends on
| Step | Question for the selected provider | Written answer to keep |
|---|---|---|
| Registration and check-up centre | Can this booking be registered and started on this date at this campus? | Desk, arrival time and reference |
| Blood or other sample collection | Which accepted samples can be collected, and what are the cut-offs? | Collection slot and preparation sheet |
| Imaging | Are the requested scan and body region booked, or only requested? | Department and confirmed slot |
| Endoscopy or another procedure | Are assessment, procedure and recovery arrangements confirmed? | Separate accepted procedure plan |
| English accompaniment | Who covers the full agreed route, including separate departments? | Contact and meeting point |
| Results and translation | When will each original be released, and when can translation follow? | Separate dates and pending-item contact |
Mark unconfirmed cells as pending. If one essential step has no confirmed slot, decide whether to choose another date, accept a split visit or defer that item after clinical discussion. Do not treat a partially filled itinerary as an all-in-one booking.
Keep the visit calendar separate from the report calendar
A Sunday appointment and a Monday flight can be compatible with later document delivery only if the clinical team confirms the visit and you have agreed the follow-up plan. The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. Confirm whether a clinician needs to speak with you before you travel.
Where a provider gives a working-day estimate, ask which dates it means for this booking. A holiday can affect different stages differently. Record an actual expected date and a date for checking progress rather than trying to count working days yourself. Pathology and other pending results require their own estimates; see biopsy results after departure.
Decide whether a split visit still fits the trip
Consider a traveller free on Sunday morning whose requested scan is offered only on a later date. Three decisions remain: whether the clinician accepts the revised sequence, whether the traveller can attend both visits, and whether the support and total price cover both appointments. A coordinator should seek a single revised plan showing what happens when, rather than leave the traveller to reconcile separate messages.
For a short business trip, retain your next meeting, hotel move and departure time in the itinerary. The business-trip guide covers choosing the most workable city. For a Shanghai appointment, the Shanghai planning page remains the starting point for the commercial options.
Confirm the full quote and any change conditions
Do not assume a weekend surcharge, discount or guaranteed priority appointment. Ask for the actual complete quote for the confirmed date. If an out-of-scope arrangement is needed, it should be specified and approved rather than discovered on the day.
A confirmed MyChinaCheckup package includes its listed examinations and consumables, personal VIP coordination, dedicated English-speaking accompaniment throughout the check-up, and the hospital-issued Chinese original report with a full English translation. These included services should not be charged twice. Any requested service outside the accepted scope needs separate confirmation and, where applicable, an approved additional quote.
Before payment, check the accepted plan and applicable cancellation and rescheduling terms. If the hospital later changes a roster or slot, ask for the alternatives and their effect on your scope, timing and total before accepting a replacement.
Reconfirm the contact and meeting instructions
Keep the campus address, registration reference, confirmed arrival time in China time, preparation sheet and day-of-visit contact together. Ask which contact is available during your appointment window and who will deal with pending results afterwards. If a booking message conflicts with a newer hospital notice, have the conflict resolved before travelling to the campus.
In your enquiry, include the exact dates, essential examinations, any optional additions and your final departure time. We can check a workable sequence rather than assume that every service follows the same calendar.
Ask us to check your plan
Share your city, dates, concerns and special requirements. We will clarify what the selected provider can confirm before you accept a booking.
An enquiry does not reserve an appointment. Clinical decisions, preparation and treatment are provided by the selected healthcare provider.
