Four Adults, Different Priorities: A Guangzhou Family Check-up Budget

By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published · Updated

A family of four adults wants to attend together in Guangzhou. Their main interest is blood testing, but their priorities differ and they want to keep spending under control. The planning task is to compare four individual scopes while asking for a shared appointment window.

A composite planning example based on anonymised enquiry themes, not a record of a completed visit or a promised outcome. The provider must confirm each arrangement.

Start with four short requirements lists

Ask each adult to name their priorities, any specific examination they want discussed, previous tests relevant to review, available dates and budget concern. Do not convert “mainly blood tests” into a fixed laboratory panel or a single identical package for everyone.

The family organiser can collect practical preferences, but each person should confirm their own request and who may receive their reports. If someone wants a clinician to assess a concern, show that as a separate clinical question rather than silently adding more screening tests.

Use published packages as comparison anchors

Pazhou men’s Basic is US$315 and women’s Basic is US$430, with the published eligibility conditions. These are complete listed packages, not prices for a blood-tests-only request. Other Guangzhou hospital options have different inclusions.

Request a table with one row per adult: proposed package, requested changes, unresolved clinical questions, individual subtotal and agreed additions. Ask whether a suitable tailored option can be quoted if a published bundle does not fit; do not assume its availability or price. The combined family total should follow the four accepted plans, not lead the clinical selection.

A shared morning still needs individual schedules

Ask the hospital whether all four can attend the same morning and how English accompaniment works if they are called to different departments. Confirm the campus, preparation instructions for each accepted test list and where the group will reunite. One family arrival time does not guarantee simultaneous tests or identical finishing times.

If staying in Foshan or changing hotels, add the actual hotel area, luggage and onward commitments. Transport is a separate arrangement unless explicitly included. Keep a contact for each attendee in case the group separates.

Agree the budget and report handover before booking

Ask for the currency, four subtotals, combined amount and what remains optional. The selected, confirmed package already includes the listed examinations, personal coordination, English accompaniment and Chinese report with full English translation; do not duplicate those service charges.

The hospital-issued Chinese report and complete English translation are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in your confirmed check-up package are completed. Confirm each person’s delivery recipient and completion date. A useful first enquiry includes four preference lists, the shared date window and the overall budget concern, so the response can show realistic choices rather than four copies of one package.

Reduce the budget without making four identical clinical plans

Give each adult a separate comparison row using a neutral label such as Adult A through Adult D. Record that person’s proposed package, specifically requested tests, items awaiting review and maximum acceptable spend. The labels organise the family enquiry; the hospital will still need each attendee’s own registration details.

If the combined proposal exceeds the family budget, ask which optional, unaccepted additions can be left undecided and which alternative complete packages can be reviewed. Do not remove a clinician-requested examination solely to make the arithmetic fit. Nor should a blood-tests-only request be priced by subtracting unwanted items from a bundle without the provider’s agreement.

Collect four acceptances before approving one family total

Ask each adult to check their own row, including the accepted examinations, price, language arrangements and delivery recipient. Then reconcile the family amount to those four subtotals and any expressly shared service. If two people choose the same package, retain two patient rows; a shared payment does not merge their clinical records or authorise the organiser to receive every report.

For the visit, distinguish a shared arrival from four confirmed appointments. For handover, use four separate completion lists and record any delayed item individually. The family organiser can help track progress without being given another adult’s findings by default.

Discuss your own plan

Use one short row per adult. Keep the family budget separate from each person’s accepted tests and report permissions.
