Practical check-up guide
Kidney Blood Tests, Urine Tests and Ultrasound in China Packages
By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published
A kidney-related package can list a blood-test panel, urine testing and ultrasound as separate examinations. Matching only the word “kidney” loses that distinction. The six Huadong package pages contain all three kinds of row, but leave important laboratory detail unpublished.
Use the matrix below to identify what the catalogue actually names and what still needs confirmation. It is not a checklist of tests everyone should have or an assessment of kidney health.
Three different types of information
Creatinine can be measured in blood or urine. Blood creatinine is often used in calculating an estimated glomerular filtration rate, or eGFR. The calculation estimates kidney filtration; it should not be silently added to a package that names only an unspecified kidney panel. MedlinePlus: creatinine and eGFR
Urinalysis examines a urine sample and can involve physical, chemical and microscopic checks. The actual package specification is needed to identify its components. A urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio compares albumin and creatinine in urine; a general urinalysis label does not expressly name that ratio. MedlinePlus: urinalysis and microalbumin creatinine ratio
Ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images of internal structures. It is a different method from analysing a blood or urine sample. The named body region matters when matching an ultrasound row. MedlinePlus: ultrasound

| Term | Chinese reading aid written for this guide | Detail to keep separate |
|---|---|---|
| Kidney function panel | 肾功能检查组合 | Exact laboratory components and specimen |
| Creatinine | 肌酐 | Blood or urine measurement |
| Estimated glomerular filtration rate / eGFR | 估算肾小球滤过率 | Whether the calculated result is included |
| Urinalysis | 尿常规 / 尿液分析 | Named components and collection instructions |
| Urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio / UACR | 尿白蛋白与肌酐比值 | Exact ratio name and specimen |
| Kidney ultrasound | 肾脏超声检查 | Body region and examination method |
These translations are editorial reading aids, not original Huadong package wording. A match in this glossary is not confirmation of inclusion.
Huadong specimen and method matrix
All six complete webpage item lists were inspected on 13 October 2026. No linked package PDF or source Chinese column was available on those pages. The cells below preserve their exact relevant item labels. The “blood-test” column describes the intended scope question, not a verified specimen for each unspecified panel.

| Huadong page | Kidney-panel row: confirm blood-test scope | Urine-testing row | Ultrasound row |
|---|---|---|---|
| Men 1 | Kidney function panel | Urinalysis (10) | Ultrasound: liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys |
| Men 2 | Kidney function panel | Urinalysis10 | Ultrasound: liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys |
| Men 3 | Kidney function panel | Urinalysis | Ultrasound: liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys |
| Women 1 | Kidney function panel | Urinalysis (10) | Ultrasound: liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys |
| Women 2 | Kidney function panel | Urinalysis (10) | Ultrasound: liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys |
| Women 3 | Kidney function panel | Urinalysis (10) | Ultrasound: liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys |
The pages do not spell out the kidney-panel components, and none separately names creatinine, eGFR or a urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio. The “10” on some urinalysis labels is not a published ten-component list. Each ultrasound row explicitly includes kidneys alongside four other organs, so the anatomical scope can be recorded without adding an imaging claim.
Huadong Men 2, Men 3, Women 2 and Women 3 also separately name “Cystatin C”. Record that as its own row. The general fact that cystatin C can be used in eGFR calculations does not establish that these packages report an eGFR or which calculation they use. MedlinePlus: eGFR
An example of a bilingual label that needs checking
A separate Renji East Men 3 catalogue page prints the English row “Urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR)” beside the Chinese “尿白蛋白排泄率ACR”. The corresponding downloadable PDF carries the same pairing. The Chinese wording includes “excretion rate”, while the English says “ratio”. Preserve both labels and ask the hospital to confirm the exact measurement and specimen. The abbreviation alone does not resolve the wording mismatch.
This is precisely why a useful crosswalk needs a “needs clarification” status. Do not rewrite the Chinese source into a more convenient translation or treat either label as a confirmed promise of a particular laboratory method.
Keep the three questions separate
Ask for the kidney blood-panel components and whether an eGFR result is reported. Ask what the urine row covers and whether any specifically requested ratio is expressly included. Ask which organs the booked ultrasound covers. These are scope questions to use where relevant to an existing plan, not instructions to add all three tests.
For an unresolved line, record the exact reply, its date and any separate quoted cost. The hospital should determine clinical suitability and preparation. MyChinaCheckup can coordinate the specification and appointment; it does not interpret results or select a kidney-testing programme.
Use the general package comparison guide for the wider visit and China check-up planning to explore current options.
What this comparison can establish
These are observations about the public MyChinaCheckup catalogue checked on 13 October 2026, not independent confirmation of a hospital’s current laboratory order set. “Not separately named” means that no matching named row was found in the inspected list. It does not mean the test is unavailable or definitely excluded. A general panel heading may leave its components unresolved. Package names are catalogue identifiers, not a recommendation about who should choose them.
MyChinaCheckup coordinates visits; the selected healthcare provider supplies the medical services and decides clinical suitability. Ask for the exact scope and any separate price in the written plan. An enquiry does not reserve an appointment. For ordinary check-ups, payment can be made after arrival in China and before the first examination; any hospital-required advance payment is disclosed and agreed before booking. See how the service works.
