Eye Checks in China Health Packages: What Is Included?
By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published
An “eye examination” row is not a promise of every eye test. In the Sanya Basic 01 and Selected 03 lists for men and women, the named item is an external eye examination. That wording does not automatically include eye-pressure measurement, a dilated examination, retinal imaging or OCT.
Read the exact package wording
| Sanya package group | Named external eye examination |
|---|---|
| Men’s Basic 01 / Women’s Basic 01 | Listed |
| Men’s Advanced 02 / Women’s Advanced 02 | Not listed |
| Men’s Selected 03 / Women’s Selected 03 | Listed |
Advanced 02 does not list this external-eye row. None of these rows establishes a separate eye-pressure test, dilation or OCT. This comparison describes published package contents only; it does not claim that a specific eye procedure is available or unavailable at the hospital.
Distinguish the request before asking for a quote
An external check, vision testing, eye-pressure measurement and examination of the inside of the eye are different components. In a dilated eye examination, drops widen the pupil so the clinician can examine internal structures. The National Eye Institute explains the components of a dilated examination.
If an existing doctor’s request names a specific examination, retain that wording. Ask the receiving clinical team whether it can be accepted, by which department and under what appointment. Do not treat a routine package label as confirmation of a specialist investigation.
Keep screening separate from a clinical concern
A normal routine check does not rule out every eye condition. If you are booking because of symptoms, an existing finding or a follow-up recommendation, explain that to the receiving provider so the appropriate clinical pathway can be considered.
The appointment may need to be separate from general screening. Confirm the purpose of each visit, which clinician is responsible and whether one result is needed before another appointment. This guide does not diagnose symptoms or recommend a particular examination for every visitor.
Confirm practical consequences of any accepted addition
- Exact examination name and whether it is in the selected package.
- Accepted department, location and appointment time for a separate request.
- Additional fees, language support and the written records to be supplied.
- Preparation and any effect on driving, travel or the next appointment, as advised by the provider.
- Who explains the result and how a further review would be arranged.
Ask these questions before placing a fixed travel commitment immediately after the visit. A separately accepted specialist examination may have different preparation and follow-up arrangements from the routine package.
Confirmed package services and timing
Your selected, confirmed check-up package price includes all listed examinations and consumables, personalised VIP coordination, dedicated English-speaking accompaniment throughout the check-up, and the hospital-issued Chinese report with a full English translation. Extras need a separately disclosed price and your acceptance.
Routine packages usually take 2–3.5 hours on site; additions or separate appointments can take longer. Both reports are delivered within 3–5 working days after all examinations listed in the confirmed package are completed. This is not a deadline for a separate specialist diagnostic or treatment pathway.
For ordinary check-ups, payment can be made after arriving in China, but must be complete before the first examination. Any hospital-required advance payment is explained before you confirm the booking. Booking steps · Cancellation and refund terms.

Discuss your own plan
Explain the appointment or examination scope you want checked. An enquiry is free and does not reserve an appointment. The receiving provider confirms suitability, availability and the written plan.
