Two China Health-check Packages at US$322: Compare the Actual Scope

By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published

Catalogue checked: 13 October 2026. Prices are MyChinaCheckup’s published whole-package reference prices per person, subject to a confirmed written plan.

Shanghai Ren’ai Men’s Basic 01 and Guangzhou Medical First Men’s Basic 01 both show US$322. Their examination lists differ substantially. Ren’ai lists low-dose chest CT, a C14 breath test and individually named laboratory measurements. Guangzhou Medical First lists a two-view chest X-ray, stool analysis, hs-CRP and homocysteine, with several laboratory panels whose components remain unspecified.

This comparison covers the complete published examination scope of those two packages. It does not establish which package is appropriate for you, equal appointment availability, or an equal total cost for visiting two different cities.

The two prices refer to two specific locations

Published package Location in the package listing Reference price
Ren’ai Men’s Basic 01 Check-up centre, 111 Caoxi Road, Xuhui, Shanghai US$322 per person
Guangzhou Medical First Men’s Basic 01 First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Yanjiang campus, Guangzhou US$322 per person

Both are men’s catalogue options; the hospital must confirm individual suitability. Neither title establishes an age range or acceptance for a particular attendee. Ask for the exact entrance and meeting point with the appointment confirmation.

The two package pages state the same four included services for a selected, confirmed package: listed examinations and consumables, personal coordination, English-speaking accompaniment throughout the check-up, and the hospital-issued Chinese report with a complete English translation. These services should not be added again as assumed extras. The published report commitment is within 3–5 working days after all listed package examinations are completed. The current service terms describe the agreed inclusive price for confirmed visits through 31 December 2026. Confirm the applicable quote for a later visit; already accepted quotes retain their agreed terms.

The table prices exclude unlisted tests, treatment, medicines, transport and accommodation unless the written plan expressly includes them. They are operator-published package prices, not independently verified hospital tariffs or a quote for your travel dates.

Examinations and imaging compared

“Not separately listed” below means the published list does not establish inclusion. It does not establish that the hospital cannot provide an examination, or that an unspecified panel excludes a particular component. No examination is treated as a free addition.

Bone-density assessment Listed; device and measurement site unspecified Not separately listed

Sources: the complete Ren’ai list and Guangzhou Medical First list, checked on the date above.

Three differences need careful reading. The chest-imaging entries name different examinations. A thyroid examination in a physical-examination section does not establish thyroid ultrasound; the ultrasound rows provide that evidence separately. And “male urinary tract” does not let us silently fill in a matching kidney-and-prostate list. Ask the provider to specify the organs if that affects the comparison.

The bone-density wording at Ren’ai does not identify DXA, an ultrasound device or a measurement site. This comparison leaves those details unresolved. It also does not attach a dose, protocol or diagnostic capability to an imaging entry beyond the published wording.

Laboratory scope compared

The table below includes every laboratory category in either package. Long panels are grouped to keep it readable; the exact-row CSV preserves every published entry, section and condition, including repeated measurements.

Area Ren’ai Men’s Basic 01 Guangzhou Medical First Men’s Basic 01
Blood count A blood-count section with 23 individually named measurements Venous blood cell analysis; individual measurements unspecified
Urine 17 named entries, including chemical and microscopy items Urine dry-chemistry analysis and quantitative urine sediment analysis; components unspecified
Glucose Fasting blood glucose and HbA1c Fasting blood glucose and HbA1c
Lipids Triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, non-HDL cholesterol, apolipoprotein A1, apolipoprotein B, ApoA1/ApoB ratio and lipoprotein(a) Four-component lipid panel; components unspecified
Liver ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, total and direct bilirubin, total protein, albumin, globulin, albumin/globulin ratio and prealbumin Liver function panel, group 1; components unspecified
Kidney-related and metabolic items Uric acid, creatinine and blood urea nitrogen Three-component metabolic panel; components unspecified, so no particular renal analyte is inferred
Thyroid blood tests T3, T4 and TSH Not separately listed
Cardiac enzyme panel Creatine kinase, creatine kinase isoenzyme test, lactate dehydrogenase and alpha-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase Not separately listed
Blood viscosity Whole-blood measurements at four stated shear rates, plasma viscosity, haematocrit and seven named indices or related viscosity measurements Not separately listed
ESR Erythrocyte sedimentation rate at one hour Not separately listed
hs-CRP Not separately listed High-sensitivity C-reactive protein
Homocysteine Not separately listed Homocysteine
Tumour-marker section AFP, CEA, CA19-9, CA125, PSA, CA50 and CA72-4 Two-component tumour-marker panel; the markers are not named
Stool Not separately listed Routine stool analysis and occult blood, labelled Rt + OB

These entries describe the catalogue, not a recommended screening menu or a claim that a result can rule out disease. Ask a qualified clinician whether proposed examinations are appropriate and how results would be used.

Four panels remain unresolved in the Guangzhou list

The three-component metabolic panel, liver function group 1, four-component lipid panel and two-component tumour-marker panel each lack a component list. The shared word “lipid” cannot establish that the two packages contain the same lipid measurements. The two tumour markers cannot be assumed to be AFP and CEA merely because those markers appear in other packages.

The reverse limitation also matters: an individually printed measurement at Ren’ai is evidence that it is named there, not proof that it is absent from every grouped entry at Guangzhou Medical First. A fully matched comparison needs the missing specifications from the receiving team.

Collection and consultation entries

Guangzhou Medical First explicitly lists outpatient venous blood collection and an outpatient consultation fee at associate-chief-physician level. Its page says that fee is included in the stated package price. Ren’ai does not separately itemise those two entries in its examination table. That difference in presentation does not establish an extra Ren’ai charge; its selected-package service description already includes expressly listed examinations and consumables.

The Ren’ai page also advertises an optional MRI addition. MRI is outside the US$322 examination table used here. An advertised add-on should never be silently folded into an equal-price comparison. Its precise scope, suitability, appointment and extra cost need separate confirmation if requested.

What the matched price tells you

The useful result is a set of specific differences: chest CT versus two-view X-ray; individually named versus unresolved laboratory panels; differing ultrasound wording; and several examinations printed on only one list. US$322 identifies the published package amount at each location. It does not resolve those differences or create an all-in travel budget.

If you will already be in Shanghai, a Guangzhou appointment has a different travel context from a local one. If you will already be in Guangzhou, the reverse applies. This article does not recommend travelling between the cities to obtain a particular test list. Use the national cost guide for the wider budget, including any travel caused by the appointment.

Request a scope answer before choosing

Send the two package links above with the city and dates you can actually attend. Ask the coordinator to obtain the unnamed panel components and precise ultrasound scope, then request the current written package total and any approved additions. The hospital determines clinical suitability; the coordinator can clarify the catalogue and appointment arrangements.

An enquiry does not reserve a slot. A usable answer should identify the named package, campus, attendee’s eligibility, accepted examinations and services, date, total and report arrangements. No passport image or medical record is needed for the first enquiry.

Evidence and scope of this comparison

Both complete HTML examination tables were fetched again on 13 October 2026. Their operator-hosted PDFs were also retrieved; the PDFs show a 10 October 2026 document date and matching US$322 prices. All English item labels were checked against the PDF first-column text. The HTML tables matched the supplied catalogue snapshot after whitespace normalisation.

The full C03 exact-row CSV contains the full 119 Ren’ai entries and 23 Guangzhou Medical First entries, with headings kept separately as context. These are publication rows, not comparable totals of distinct tests: panels, submeasurements, support items and repeated labels are recorded as printed. The price-evidence CSV preserves the two source URLs and the observed price evidence. These materials document the comparison; they do not constitute independent hospital confirmation or guarantee future availability.
