Practical check-up guide
Coagulation Tests in China Check-up Lists: PT, APTT, Fibrinogen and Platelets
By MyChinaCheckup coordination team · Published
A package can name four coagulation measurements while leaving its platelet specification unresolved. The three Guangzhou panel rows checked here print APTT, PT, FIB and TT. Each page also lists a complete blood count without identifying its components. None separately names INR. Two Clifford lists show another format: they explicitly print a platelet-count row.
Those are different pieces of booking evidence. This guide helps you match an existing test request to the actual names and report fields in a package, without turning a general “blood tests” description into an assumed order. It compares five MyChinaCheckup catalogue pages checked on 13 October 2026. Their wording is operator-published information, not independent confirmation of hospital availability or a laboratory order.
Read the measurements before comparing the packages
Clotting involves both blood cells and proteins. A platelet count records the number of platelets; platelet-function tests address how they work. PT and APTT concern clot formation in a sample. Their names should therefore occupy separate lines in a scope comparison. MedlinePlus: platelet tests and PTT explain these distinctions.

| Name or abbreviation | Meaning supported by the reference | What remains a local scope question |
|---|---|---|
| PT | Prothrombin time, a timed measure of clot formation in a blood sample | Which results will the laboratory report alongside PT? |
| INR | International normalized ratio, calculated from PT results to aid comparison across methods or laboratories | Is INR expressly included in the report? The letters PT alone do not answer that catalogue question. |
| APTT / aPTT | Activated partial thromboplastin time; the MedlinePlus PTT entry includes this name and explains that it concerns different clotting factors from PT | What is the exact local test and reported name? |
| FIB | Fibrinogen is the name associated with the FIB code in the Leeds laboratory directory; fibrinogen is a protein involved in forming clots | Confirm that expansion and the actual method locally. Do not import the Leeds method into a Chinese package. |
| TT | Thrombin time, a measure of clot formation after thrombin is added to a plasma sample | Confirm the full local name and method rather than assuming the Mayo assay specification applies. |
| Platelet count / PLT | The number of platelets in blood | Is a count itemised in the package specification? A count label does not promise a platelet-function assay. |
Terminology sources: MedlinePlus PT/INR, MedlinePlus PTT, MedlinePlus fibrinogen, Leeds Teaching Hospitals fibrinogen directory, Mayo Clinic Laboratories thrombin time and MedlinePlus platelet tests. These sources explain names; they do not establish a Chinese provider's scope, specimen handling or turnaround.
Five package lists reveal two naming formats
Scroll horizontally to see all columns.
| Operator package page | Exact coagulation wording | Platelet naming in the list | INR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sun Yat-sen Memorial Men’s check-up 02 | “Coagulation panel: APTT, PT, FIB, TT” | “Complete Blood Count”; platelet component not itemised | Not separately named |
| Sun Yat-sen Memorial Women’s check-up 03 | “Coagulation panel: APTT, PT, FIB, TT” | “Complete Blood Count”; platelet component not itemised | Not separately named |
| Zhujiang Women’s check-up 03 | “Coagulation panel: APTT, PT, FIB, TT” | “Complete Blood Count”; platelet component not itemised | Not separately named |
| Clifford Men’s Select 03 | Not separately named | “38. Platelet count” | Not separately named |
| Clifford Women’s Select 03 | Not separately named | “38. Platelet count” | Not separately named |
The first three pages attach the same note to both the coagulation panel and the CBC: “Listed as a group. Individual sub-indicators are not fully specified.” Preserve that qualification alongside the four abbreviations. The title provides four names, but the note still leaves the full laboratory specification open. Removing either part would make the source less accurate.
The Clifford row appears as “38. Platelet count”, with the Chinese source name “血小板计数”. Its adjacent “39. Platelet distribution plot” is another exact label. A distribution-plot title does not explicitly name a platelet-function assay. The complete Clifford tables do not separately name the four-part coagulation panel or INR. That absence concerns the published list only; it is not a confirmed exclusion or evidence that the hospital cannot arrange them.
This comparison also shows why an ordinary CBC description cannot complete a booking record. MedlinePlus explains that a platelet count may be part of a CBC. The three panel pages, however, leave their CBC components unspecified. Record “CBC listed; platelet component awaiting specification” until the selected provider supplies its itemised order. For the broader cell-count and iron distinction, see the CBC, ferritin and iron guide.
PT and INR need a precise reporting question
PT and INR are closely related, so a casual reply saying “PT included” may sound sufficient. The specific open question is whether the report supplies INR as well as PT. This audit found no separate INR label in any of the five complete tables. It cannot answer how the laboratories normally report PT or whether a confirmed order would include the ratio.
If an existing request specifies PT/INR, retain that full wording in your enquiry. Mark the catalogue's PT match and the unresolved INR output separately. The same discipline applies to “platelet count” versus “platelet function”: a related term should not close an unmatched line.
A request card for an existing order

| Field to keep | Entry |
|---|---|
| Selected package and source URL | ____ |
| Exact wording of the existing test request | ____ |
| Matching printed names | ____ |
| Full expansions of APTT, PT, FIB and TT supplied by the provider | ____ |
| INR reporting confirmed, or still unresolved | ____ |
| Platelet count and any separately requested platelet-function test matched individually | ____ |
| Dated itemised scope, unresolved entries and any separate quote | ____ |
Suggested wording: “I am matching an existing test request to [package and link]. Please confirm the full names behind its coagulation abbreviations, whether PT reporting includes INR, and the CBC component list. Please match any requested platelet-function test separately. Keep unconfirmed items visible and identify any separate charge before I accept the scope.”
Use this card only to clarify a request you already have. It does not recommend ordering all the listed measurements. No result threshold, bleeding diagnosis, medication adjustment, or fitness clearance follows from a package comparison. The eventual results and clinical purpose require an appropriate healthcare professional; the catalogue cannot supply that interpretation.
Sources and scope
All five complete operator item tables were checked on 13 October 2026 and are linked above. Exact names and uncertainty notes have been retained. The primary clinical sources explain terminology only. This guide does not claim clinician review or confirm a hospital appointment.
