From a Message Before Travel to a Shared Moment in a Shanghai Hospital
Y.’s personalised Shanghai health check-up brought together pre-travel questions, an adjusted examination plan and English-speaking support from Julie at Shanghai Ren’ai Hospital. Her check-up is complete; report coordination and follow-up are continuing.

In the hospital lobby, Y. and Julie stood side by side for a photograph. It marks more than a check-up: it brings together a journey from the first enquiry and changes to the plan to support in person.
Making time for health during a Shanghai trip
Y. contacted MyChinaCheckup in early October. She planned to visit Shanghai towards the end of the month and wanted to use some of her time there for a comprehensive health check-up.
She wanted the examinations to address the questions that mattered to her. We first discussed her itinerary, possible appointment dates and priorities, then put together a proposed plan. Those initial conversations shaped what followed: the starting point was what she hoped to understand during this visit to Shanghai.
Turning an examination list into a plan she could help shape
We explained the proposed examinations around her interests in women’s health and cardiovascular health, and discussed whether the imaging items should be adjusted. After receiving the plan, she reviewed it carefully and continued to share her thoughts.
We updated the itemised list so that, before travelling, she could see what was included and which requests needed additional coordination. After reviewing the revised proposal, she replied: “This looks great 😊”. She then confirmed her arrival plans and the dates when she could attend.
Through that exchange, a list of examinations became a plan she could understand and take part in choosing.
The address, entrance and meeting arrangements mattered too
Once the plan was agreed, Y. asked a practical question: which address and floor should she go to on arrival?
For an international visitor coming to Shanghai for the first time, finding the right place and knowing whom to contact can make a real difference to the day. We created a group conversation, introduced Julie and shared the address, meeting arrangements and preparation information before the visit.
Appointment coordination included explaining what to do next after setting out for the hospital.
Support through the hospital steps
At Shanghai Ren’ai Hospital, Julie accompanied Y. and helped with communication during the check-up. The visit included the everyday steps of sitting down for a blood-pressure measurement, following staff guidance at the blood collection window and carrying the paperwork on to the next examination.
In an unfamiliar language and setting, having someone help confirm the process, pass on questions and explain the next step can reduce uncertainty.
The check-up is complete; follow-up continues
Y. also expressed her thanks in the group conversation. Report preparation, coordination of the English-language content and follow-up questions still require attention, and the team explained the next steps for her report.
For someone fitting a check-up into a trip, receiving and understanding their health information afterwards matters alongside the examinations on the day.
Care in the details that are easy to overlook
Pre-travel questions, the examination list checked and revised, the hospital address, a named assistant to meet and continuing follow-up all formed part of this Shanghai experience.
A personalised plan starts with listening carefully, explaining the arrangements and helping where support is needed. It does not mean that everyone needs more examinations.
Make health easier to understand, and put care into every step.
